TavernSeat Refund Policy
Effective Date: February 26, 2026
TavernSeat is a marketplace platform that connects players with independent Game Masters (GMs). Each GM operates their own game sessions and sets their own pricing. Because of this structure, refund decisions are handled according to the policies outlined below.
1. Session 0 / First Session Guarantee
TavernSeat provides an automatic refund safeguard for new bookings.
If a game includes a Session 0 (and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that it should), or if the group skips Session 0 and begins with their first full session, any player may request a full refund immediately following that first session if they decide the game is not a good fit.
Refunds requested at this stage:
- Do not require justification
- Are processed without penalty to the player
- Are considered part of TavernSeat's onboarding protection policy
This policy exists to ensure players can book with confidence.
2. Refund Requests After the First Session
After the initial Session 0 or first session has been completed, refund decisions are at the discretion of the Game Master.
Game Masters are independent providers and are fully empowered to:
- Offer full refunds
- Offer partial refunds
- Deny refund requests
Players are encouraged to communicate directly with their Game Master first to resolve any concerns.
3. Escalation Process
If a player believes their situation warrants further review after speaking with their Game Master, they may request escalation.
Escalation requests must be submitted to:

When submitting an escalation request, players should include:
- Game title
- Date(s) of session(s)
- A clear explanation of the issue
TavernSeat will review the matter and make a final determination. Decisions made after escalation review are final.
4. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Initiating a chargeback through a payment provider without first contacting the Game Master or TavernSeat may result in account suspension pending investigation.
TavernSeat encourages direct resolution whenever possible.
5. Platform Fees
If a refund is approved, TavernSeat's platform fee associated with the refunded session will also be reversed where applicable.
Tips provided to Game Masters are voluntary and generally non-refundable unless otherwise agreed upon by the Game Master.
6. Independent Game Masters
Game Masters on TavernSeat are independent providers. TavernSeat facilitates booking and payment processing but does not control game content, session quality, or ongoing campaign decisions.
